Montessori is an education for independence, preparing a child for life.

At GMIS, we believe in the importance of developing the whole child. Our weekly enrichment classes are provided to students of all ages at GMIS. These weekly, 30 minute classes add variety, excitement and breadth to each student’s week at GMIS, and include opportunities for children to discover a range of enrichment activities, ranging from weekly soccer classes to special instruction in music, art, and mindfulness.

Students also have the opportunity to spend time in our garden.

Chinese Dance

After School Program

Art

Teachers focus on recognition of lines and shapes and how they fit together to create a whole. They will provide a visual arts experience that develops creative thinkers and problem solvers.

Kung Fu

Children learn the basics of Shaolin Kung Fu, including practical self-defense, basic hand and kicking techniques, stances and the philosophy behind Kung Fu.

Chinese Language

Children will expand their knowledge understanding of Chinese culture and language. We engage the children through sing songs, hands-on projects, outdoor exercise, story-telling, rhythm and rhymes.
