Today is the last day of Summer Session and we want to acknowledge all of the teachers from each summer session for the excellent lesson planning and organization of crafts, art projects, outside activities and creative snacks that made for a wonderful well rounded and most importantly, fun Montessori Summer Program.
The theme of the final session of summer was Dinosaurs, and this week the children had great fun learning about these amazing creatures. Everyone came home this week with a really cool Dinosaur Fossil Necklace they made themselves.
There was also some science based fun with baking soda and vinegar this week. The students mixed these together with a bit of food coloring, put a small amount on top of sand and pressed a plastic dinosaurs foot into it to make Fizzy Dino tracks!
The cooking project was a Dino Waffle with half a waffle, string cheese legs, a banana neck, watermelon back, blueberry eyes and cucumber head. Teachers covered all nutritional needs in one dinosaur. Way to go teachers!
Your child will be bringing home a bag of wonderful summer memories today as they empty out their cubbies, we hope they last a very long time.
