The children were so excited to begin their Enrichment classes this week, welcoming back Shen Laoshi and Han Laoshi for dance, Mr. Jon for music and Coach Raul for Soccer.
The classes have loved their outdoor classroom time in the patio area. Many Montessori works have been added to the outdoor shelves and each class spends time throughout the week in this outdoor learning environment. Dr. Montessori felt that the outdoor environment should be an extension of the classroom and we are so fortunate to have the beautiful space to create this important part of Montessori learning.
To add to this wonderful outdoor learning environment, the classes have begun their gardening. The children have begun filling the new planter boxes with herbs and vegetables and the big garden is almost complete with kale and various leafy greens. Teachers will be able to create wonderful healthy foods in cooking class with all of these great vegetables very soon.
The After School Program began this week as well and classes filled up quickly. If you are interested in signing your child up for an After School class, we encourage you to get your form in as soon as possible. We are happy that Spanish is going to proceed with Coach Raul teaching the group, we would love to add a few more children so please sign up if your child is interested.
